2022 Roadtrip

We returned very dusty and happy from our trip down South. We drove over 4,000 miles over 10 days, visited 7 national parks we’d never been to before, ate a lot of tacos, listened to way too many true crime podcasts, and ended up coming home 2 days early because we missed the dogs. We snowshoed the park road in the Tetons, wandered out among the ice fishers on a vast frozen lake, hiked to several beautiful high alpine lakes in the Rocky Mountains, got stuck in a winter storm, and stayed in a cozy hotel for a few nights. We made a quick stop at Great Sand Dunes before continuing down south to New Mexico. We wandered through the breath-taking ancestral Pueblo dwellings and climbed steep ladders to admire the petroglyphs at Bandelier National Monument. We kept going south until we got to the stunning White Sands National Park, which was like a beautiful, surreal visit to another planet. Then we cut west towards Tucson, enjoyed some incredible saguaros, tacos, and warm sunsets before heading back home, with a quick stop at Petrified Forest National Park along the way to see 225 million year old petrified wood and the incredible badlands. The whole trip was such a blast! Here are the parks we visited:

Grand Teton
Rocky Mountain
Great Sand Dunes
Bandelier Ntnl Monument
White Sands
Saguaro
Petrified Forest
