Okay you guys, settle in for a long. friggin. blog. post. I first Shelby at the Spokane Bridal Festival a few years ago when she was setting up her booth for her then, brand new company Schuhbox Florals. We chatted a bit, hit it off, and then I had the chance to document some of her just stupidly gorgeous work at Chanel & Nick's wedding later that year as well. We had so much fun working together, and her floral creations are utterly next. level. so I decided to ask her to collaborate on a shoot this past winter in Snoqualmie Pass. Not only did she absolutely bring it, but her super warm smile and down-to-do anything attitude made the whole day amazing.
Theeen, she let me know that her & her longtime partner were planning on eloping sometime in the next year, after they had their second kiddo, and I told her she was required to hire us for their elopement (kinda joking but also entirely not joking at all). SO! You can imagine how excited I was when she reached out for their elopement plans at her family's cabin on Priest Lake. I knew the whole day was going to be amazingly designed and super fun. Everyone got ready on the top deck overlooking Priest Lake and Shelby was utterly *stunning* in her black, two piece wedding dress from Sweet Caroline Styles and her adorable hat.
Her wonderful husband Garrett build this amazingly cool custom moon marquee for their reception space, and she did all of the florals herself, with the help of her two best friends (and business partners!). They had amazing custom mugs for all their guests and smores aplenty. They had a private, heartfelt ceremony out on her family's dock with all their loved ones on the beach. After the ceremony, we headed out to Indian Rock, which is one of their favorite lakeside hiking spots to take some portraits.
For dinner, they grilled up a ton of steaks, toasted some champagne as the sun went down, made s'mores while the stars came out and danced the night away to a killer playlist (shout out to anyone willing to play Billie Eilish at their wedding reception, I will love you forever). It was an epic day and I love these two so much for inviting us into their celebration and trusting us with such wonderful memories.
