Morgan and Jarin are some of the sweetest, friendliest, and most natural people in front of a camera that you will ever meet. So I did a little (ok, pretty big) happy dance when Morgan asked us to do their bridal session as well as their engagements (which were also, I should add, hella epic). They wanted some beautiful, natural photos of them in their wedding attire in a location they wouldn’t be able to access on their wedding day, someplace with a big meadow and even bigger open sky. So, after searching back and forth for locations and dodging rain and snow in the forecast, we finally settled on the wildlife refuge a few minutes away from their home. It turned out to be the perfect location. Not only were we totally alone in the huge park as we were shooting, our only visitors being the occasional sound of a coyote and some geese, the weather was as perfect and spring like as you could hope for in early March. As the sun set over the desert lakes and canyons that Morgan had often been to growing up, I was in rapture the entire evening. I love forests and mountains as much as the next person, but there is something about the desert and the huge open sky that captures my heart every time.
