Early Winter North Cascades Engagement Session

Annica & Aaron came all the way from San Francisco, California for their engagement shoot. They asked for somewhere in the North Cascades for their session, as they wanted to see some of the gorgeous PNW scenery and experience something totally different from the California scenery back home! We met up with them and their sweet friends for a gorgeous, chilly afternoon in the North Cascades, where a few inches of late fall snow had already fallen. The weather at Diablo was cold and wet, so we hopped back in our cars and drove to the other side of the pass! (It's my favorite little trick for shooting in this area, there's usually nicer weather waiting the closer to Winthrop you get 😉 ) We wandered around of our favorite spots before heading back to Diablo Lake, which the both of them were super excited to see! Despite being freezing, they were so so excited to be in the mountains with us, and were super good sports about the snow.

So, so grateful for people who literally travel whole states to have us photograph them and let us drag them into snowy wilderness. What an honor, you guys. One of my absolute favorite parts of this job is introducing people to the magnificence that is Washington. Seeing the look on Annica & Aaron's faces as the snowcapped mountains came into view was pretty perfect. It was such a good way to cap off our amazing year of introducing people to this wild, beautiful place before winter settled in completely.
