Julie and JC are some of the most caring, supportive, enthusiastic people you will ever meet. Seriously, if you have the good luck to meet them, they’ll befriend you for life, check up on you, your pets, your grandma, and always be there with their infectious laughter, great party spirit, and grab life by the horns attitude. When I think of these two, I always see them laughing. Julie is from Nebraska, and JC is from Spain, and both had friends and family come from the world over, with most of his family and close friends traveling in from Spain and most of Julie’s friends coming from NYC and Nebraska. Needless to say, their wedding was an absolute BLAST and one of the funnest days we’ve ever had the opportunity to be a part of. It was a great party with a super heartfelt ceremony and a once in a lifetime gathering of all their favorite people from every part of the world. There were tears, laughter, Spanish translations, and cigars galore.
The dance floor was insanely fun, and the whole day was wonderful and laid back, surrounded by true love and community. They incorporated their love of backpacking with custom table names after their favorite hikes in WA, and they love how green the PNW is, so Julie had all her wedding flowers made with solely greenery, plus they incorporated the forest green wherever they could into all their decor. Julie looked incredible in her Pronovias gown with a cathedral length veil, and a comfy reception dress (and some birks for dancing!) which was made for her by her new uncle-in-law.
Julie and JC had a couple of different wedding ceremonies, a one in Spain for JC’s family, one in the courthouse for international paperwork things (cross-continental romance is complicated), and this stateside celebration was their third! But they also met up with us a few months later to hike into the North Cascades in their wedding outfits and got an awesome adventure elopement experience too, because why. the. heck. not.
