Forever grateful for the luck/magic that brought Courtney & Taylor into our lives. From our first 2hr long phone call talking about everything and anything, I was crossing all my fingers and toes, hoping that this incredibly cool couple would hire us for their wedding day in Hawaii. What I didn’t know was that I would get two hilarious, gorgeous friends out of the deal as well. When we got to photograph their engagement session in Leavenworth way back in the pre-pandemic times, we had such a blast getting to know them both in person, meeting their family, and of course, running around the mountains together. Over the past almost two years, we've been so excited for their wedding in Hawaii. They started the day getting ready at their vacation rental before having their first look on a beach. They had their ceremony on the beach outside of their incredible venue, Papa Kona, before spending the evening admiring the insanely beautiful sunset, the waves crashing on the coast, the dope lilikoi margaritas, and the company of great friends and family. This was really one of the biggest highlights of our year, we had such an incredible time, and these two even took us snorkeling to see giant manta rays at night, which was an INSANELY cool adventure and not something I probably would have ever done if Courtney wasn't a marine biologist who convinced me we wouldn't get eaten by sharks. The next day, we met up for some more adventure, stuffing our faces full of delicious malasadas before chasing jungle vibes & celestial skies with these two in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We wandered through moss covered lava tubes, saw an active volcano, and admired the milky way and watched the rise of the moon at 9,000ft above sea level. I fricking love the Big Island, there’s such a diversity of ecology, it’s bananas, and every time we return, we discover a new favorite place. Since their wedding, these bad asses have moved to Costa Rica, and we can't wait to visit them in their new home & get up to even more muddy jungle adventures!
