We finally met for the first time in the real life for this engagement session, but I’ve already known & loved Brandi & Steve for months, because they’re just so friggin kind. Even in her emails, Brandi was always asking me how things were, and they’re just generally in the running for sweetest humans beings ever. Some people just make me feel so blessed to have this job, and these two are exactly that. They knew they wanted their engagement photos someplace epic, but they didn’t have any specific location in mind, so they asked me to send an all-time top favorite spots I’ve always wanted to shoot in Washington (my dream!!). So to say I was pumped when I finally met them was an understatement. I was so excited when they chose the Paradise area of Mt. Rainier for their session. Neither of them had been to Mt. Rainier before, so this was an awesome way to introduce them to the moody, wonderful vistas of Mt Rainier National Park. While Mt Rainier itself was firmly enshrouded in clouds that evening, we still had the treat of viewing the Tatoosh mountain range through the rolling fog surrounded by the gorgeous fall foliage. Before we lost the last of the light, they pulled out a big thermos of hot apple cider for us from their trunk, and it was at that moment I was convinced we’re gonna be best friends for life, because HOW SWEET. We had pretty much the whole area to ourselves, since it was quickly growing dark, but before we called it quits, I asked Brandi & Steve to climb the ladder up to this weird, amazing A-Frame cabin right behind the main ranger station building. Since there weren’t any signs *expressly* forbidding it, we agree to sneak it in as our last shot of the day. It’s one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken, and miraculously, no one came to kick us out of the park!
