2026 started off in the best way, with the most delightful elopement with these two lovers who came all the way from the southern US to elope at Mount Baker in the height of her busy, gorgeous winter wonderland. They got ready at their rental cabin together and enjoyed some slow, intentional time hanging out and eating their wedding cake. We spent the afternoon exploring some beautiful mossy, rainy classic PNW forest vibes with some white water rafters that passed us by on the river, while we wandered amongst the tall trees and the ferns. Then we piled back in the cars to head up to the mountain and get to the real heart of the action: the snow!
Despite a mild weather forecast, their ceremony was one of the most gnarly weather we’ve ever photographed in all our years of weddings (picture big gusts of wind and an icy sleet that coated and managed to soak through EVERY layer) but they still had an absolute blast, with huge smiles and a fantastic attitude towards some definite Type 2 Fun.
We made sure to get off the mountain pretty quick so everyone could change into dry clothes and get safely warm with some coffee and wedding cake. Despite the crazy weather, I’m so grateful to have the trust of amazing couples like them who are down for all the fun curveballs of a winter elopement.
